Planets

The planets which have most powerful influence on the earth in Jathakam (birth chart) are nine in number,
Sun (Surya), Moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangal), Mercury (Buddha), Jupiter (Gurul), Venrrs (Sukra) Satum (Sani),
Rahu and  Ketu. The last two are called shadowy planets (chhaga grahas) as they do not have physical or celestial bodies Itke the other seven planets. Of the two places where the Moon crosses the ecliptic (that is, the path of the Sun), the north point ts known as Rahu and the corresponding south point which is exactly 180 Degrees away from the former Ketu.

Inspite of the fact that they are not celestial bodies like other planets, they are very sensitive and effective points due to their powerful Influence on the earth, All planets play very important role in Kundli ( Birth chart) .
